Our high-quality freeze brands allow you to brand horses, cattle, and dogs more humanely and with more detail. They also work in a variety of placements, such as the cheek, hip, or shoulder. Freeze branding is less painful for the animal since it kills the hair follicle rather than burning the skin. This allows the hair to grow back white for a detailed, clean-cut design.
To make your custom freeze brand, send us the design you want. This can include a written description, a computer CAD file, a faxed copy of an image, or a hand-drawn sketch.
We’ll create a computer-generated CAD drawing and send it to you for approval. Once you approve it, we will send you the invoice and get started. You won’t pay anything until the file is approved.
More often than not, your brand design will match the CAD artwork within a few thousands of an inch.
Your brand will be completed and shipped in about two weeks. Each order includes steel handles.
We use special tools to create detailed brands. However, more detailed designs will be more expensive.
Excessive detail is not recommended to ensure consistent branding results. A simpler design will yield better results on your first brand.
Not sure if your design is too detailed? Send us a message or give us a call, and we can help you out.
Our freeze brands are cast from red brass. They have slightly rounded faces and corners to prevent the brand from cutting into the animal during the branding process.
For horses, we recommend a minimum character height of 2 inches with an overall brand size of 4 inches. A typical horse freeze brand is ¼ “ thick. We often sell 3”-5” brands for horses.
For cattle, we recommend a minimum character height of 3 inches with an overall brand size of 5 inches for mature cattle. A typical cattle freeze brand is 3/8” thick. We often sell 5.5” to 6” brands for cattle.
We’ve compiled several resources on how to use a freeze brand. Please find them below:
